Access warnings on Rotary websites - why and how to fix?

Avatar

If you get a warning like this:

Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead

Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to www.rotaryoceania.zone. If you visit this site, attackers could try to steal information like your passwords, emails, or credit card details.

What can you do about it?

The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it. You can notify the website’s administrator about the problem.

Your connection isn't private

Attackers might be trying to steal your information from www.rotaryoceania.zone (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).

net::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

A quick check is to open a Private (Firefox) or Incognito (Google Chrome) window as  that window will not reference the cookie sorted for the site.

If you can access the site through a Private or Incognito new window then your issue is a cookie that is not updated.  You can sort this by going into Settings/Privacy and Security/Cookies and Site Data and clear the cookie for the relevant website - NOTE YOU CAN do THIS FOR AN INDIVIDUAL SITE such as rotaryoceania.zone

If you need more Help file a Helpdesk ticket.

PS the security (SSL) certificates for rotaryoceania.zone auto renew.

If there is an issue the first thing the Helpdesk team will do is check that the SSL certificate is current.  You can do that yourself by clicking on the connections icoon in front of the domain name and checkking the SSL cErtificate details which look like this as at the time of writing:
